    Our ancestors taught us that to survive as First Nations people, we must understand both our traditional ways and the western ways. As a Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience working directly on-reserve, I bring a deep understanding of both perspectives. I hold a Diploma in Human Resources Management and serve as a board member of the Canadian Aboriginal Human Resources Management Association (CAHRMA).

    Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in governance, operations, and HR management. I have led numerous operational and policy reviews, and I am aware of how the evolving political landscape impacts these systems. Simultaneously, I am on a personal journey to reconnect with our traditional ways of being and doing, recognizing the unique challenges First Nations face in balancing Western and traditional approaches. I am committed to finding ways to decolonize our systems to include wahkotowin.

    Vicky is an experienced Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience across multiple industries and organizations. Vicky has been involved in various high-level executive HR functions, including the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of HR strategies, governance, and compliance. Most recently, Vicky’s work has focused on First Nations communities, where she has gained a profound appreciation for the role that tradition and language play. Together, we understand how inclusive and diverse work cultures can significantly contribute to the success of an organization.
